uParcel Sharpens Competitive Edge Through Innovative Research
Singapore-based SME uParcel has solidified its competitive edge in e-commerce logistics and medicine delivery through a 16-month research collaboration with SMU. The partnership resulted in the development of an advanced AI planning and route optimisation tool, based on SMU's Collaborative Urban Delivery Optimisation (CUDO) technology. This asset-light approach distinguishes uParcel in the last-mile delivery sector, contributing to a 20 percent efficiency improvement and a more sustainable logistics landscape. With Southeast Asia's digital market projected to exceed US$200 billion by 2025, uParcel's innovative technology positions it strategically in the rapidly evolving e-commerce industry, aiming to expand into new markets, including India. The collaboration underscores the potency of industry leveraging university research for innovation and sustainability.

Empowering a Tech-Savvy Workforce with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Reinforcing its priority to invest in digitally savvy future-ready talent, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has partnered with SMU to launch two new industry-centric education programmes. The first is a new Work-Study Elective Programme consisting of an Accenture internship qualification and a Cloud Solutions Development course supported by Accenture and AWS; the second is a SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) targeting mid-career professionals looking to move into software development careers.
Both programmes highlight the importance of academic and industry collaborations to co-develop educational curriculum that is relevant, intentional, and future proof.

Pioneering the development of talent, capabilities, and research in the sustainable finance sector, the Singapore Green Finance Centre (SGFC) is an initiative by Imperial College and Singapore Management University, and supported by Monetary Authority of Singapore. In addition to identifying green investment opportunities, SGFC conducts cutting-edge research and provide thought leaderships on sustainable finance practices, policies, and emerging trends. SGFC also offers training programs and educational initiatives on developing green capital markets.
