Previous Appointments

Prior to becoming Senior Vice President (Transformation) at SMU, Boon Wee was Deputy Secretary (Services) of the Ministry of Education (2014-2023) and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Transport (2005-2014). 

After joining the Administrative Service, he held Director-level appointments in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Development. He also served in the Office of the President of the Republic of Singapore as the Principal Private Secretary to the late President S. R. Nathan.

He began his career with the Singapore Armed Forces, attaining a rank of Lieutenant-Colonel before leaving active service.
