Previous Appointments 

Prior to becoming Senior Vice President, Administration at SMU, Hugh Edmiston was Director of Corporate Services & VP of Business Development at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom (2014-2020). 

Hugh joined the University of Edinburgh as Registrar for the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (2010-14). Prior to that, he was the Director of Operations at the Roslin Institute, United Kingdom (2005-2010). 

He also served as the Director of Administration & Company Secretary at the Silsoe Research Institute, United Kingdom (1998-2005).

Industry Membership / Affiliations 

Hugh currently sits as a Board Member of the SICC (Singapore International Chamber of Commerce), a position he has held since 2020. 

He is also Co-Chair at the UKSAEI (UK-Singapore Universities Alliance for Entrepreneurship & Innovation), a position he has retained from 2021.

He has been a Member of the IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology, United Kingdom) from 1995.
